Lolly’s Locks, a nonprofit that provides high-quality wigs to economically disadvantaged cancer patients, is pleased to announce that Kristen Berset-Harris, Host of Great Day Washington on WUSA9, will host the 6th annual DC Gala, The Hair Affair DC, to be held on Thursday, May 3, 2018 from 7:00pm to 11:00pm at The Carnegie Institution for Science at 1530 P St NW, Washington, DC 20005.
Kristen spent 6 years as WUSA9 Sports Anchor before joining the team at Great Day Washington.
She still keeps up on all the sports news, while bringing viewers the latest and greatest that the DC area community has to offer.
In June 2017, Kristen was honored by the National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the Emmy Awards with the Ted Yates Award. It’s the chapter’s ‘Profile of Courage’ award given to professionals in the news business who have exhibited bravery on and off the job. Kristen returned to WUSA9 in August 2017 after completing treatment for her second bout with breast cancer, and continues to be a strong advocate for awareness and early detection.
Kristen’s career began on the white sandy beaches of her home state of Florida and has taken her to the Middle East, to Baltimore, and now Washington, DC.
Kristen is a graduate of the University of Florida with a degree in Telecommunications.
The Hair Affair DC will include an open-bar, hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction, and remarks by both a host and honoree. The fundraiser will support Lolly’s Locks in providing more high-quality wigs to cancer patients in need. All sponsorships and donations from this gala will help make it possible for cancer patients to experience the improved quality of life that a high-quality wig can provide.
